Characteristics

Stem terete, ca. 90 cm, slender, glabrous. Leaves all opposite, distant, sessile, green adaxially, subglaucous abaxially, linear-lanceolate, 7.5--13 cm, papery, 3-veined, apex acute to acuminate. Peduncle and pedicels 1.2--2 cm. Flowers paired. Perianth tube white, constricted above ovary; lobes green, deltoid, very short. Stamens inserted at mouth of perianth tube; filaments very short, naked; anthers small. Style filiform, 2--3 × as long as the ovary. 2 n = ?36*.
