Rhizome tuberous terete, 1.7--2.6 cm thick. Stem suberect, to 1.3 m, glabrous. Leaves opposite or subopposite, sometimes also alternate or in whorls of 3 or 4; petiole 3--6 mm; leaf blade elliptic-lanceolate, 13--19 × 3.5--5 cm, glabrous, base obtuse-rounded, apex strongly cirrose. Inflorescences 1-or 2-flowered; peduncle 2--2.7 cm; bracts 2, white, lanceolate, 2--2.5 mm, membranous. Pedicel 7--9 mm. Perianth cylindric, ca. 1.5 cm; lobes oblong-ovate, 4--5 mm. Filaments ca. 2 mm, glabrous; anthers 3--4 mm. Ovary ca. 4 mm. Style 7--8 mm. Fl. Jun.
