Characteristics

An erect epiphytic herb to 25 cm. tall.. Pseudobulbs ovoid to narrowly conical, more or less covered by sheathing cataphylls below, up to 3 cm. long, 1 cm. broad, 2–3-leaved at the apex.. Leaves suberect to arcuate, linear to narrowly oblanceolate, obtuse or rounded, 7–11 cm. long, 0.7–1.2 cm. broad.. Inflorescence erect, 6–15 cm. long, rather laxly few–many-flowered, densely pubescent; bracts broadly ovate or cordate, mucronate and recurved at the apex, 6–10 mm. long, 6 mm. broad.. Flowers pubescent on outer surface, yellow, flushed with red; anther-cap crimson; callus golden yellow.. Dorsal sepal ovate-lanceolate or lanceolate, acuminate or acute, 6.5–8 mm. long, 3 mm. broad; lateral sepals obliquely triangular-lanceolate, acuminate, 7.5–9 mm. long, 5 mm. broad, forming a short conical mentum ± 4.2 mm. high.. Petals oblanceolate, rounded, 6 mm. long, 1.7–2 mm. broad, papillose in apical half.. Lip 3-lobed, strongly recurved in basal half, sparsely clavate-pubescent on disc, callus, side lobes and mid-lobe, ± 6 mm. long, 5 mm. broad; side lobes extending below geniculation in lip, somewhat oblong-elliptic, truncate in front; mid-lobe ovate, subacute, fleshy but not bullate.. Column short, stout, less than 1 mm. long.
