Characteristics

A pendulous or erect epiphytic plant to 35 cm. or more long.. Stems (or pseudobulbs) caespitose, terete, to 25 cm. long, 1 mm. wide, secondary and tertiary stems given off from apical half of older growths, 2–9 cm. long, 1 mm. wide, all covered in scarious tubular sheaths and leaf bases, 5–8-leaved in apical half.. Leaves linear, grass-like, acute, flexuous, 5–11 cm. long, 2–3.5 mm. wide.. Inflorescence unbranched, much shorter than the leaves, 4–8-flowered, 1.5–3 cm. long; bracts lanceolate, long-acuminate, 1.5–2.5 mm. long.. Flowers suberect, white, greenish yellow or yellow, with a yellow or purple lip.. Dorsal sepal ovate, acuminate, cucullate, 3–5 mm. long, 2 mm. wide; lateral sepals very obliquely ovate, acuminate, 6.8–9.5 mm. long (along longest margin), 4–5.5 mm. wide, forming with the column-foot a shortly and broadly cylindrical mentum 4–5.2 mm. long.. Petals linear to oblong-elliptic, 2.7–3.5 mm. long, 0.8–1.1 mm. wide, acute.. Lip with a long claw, obscurely 3-lobed in apical half, 6.5 mm. long, 4 mm. wide; side lobes erect, narrowly oblong, rounded at apex; mid-lobe much larger than side lobes, broadly ovate to orbicular, apiculate; claw pubescent; callus a fleshy transverse ridge between side lobes, sometimes sparsely pubescent.. Column short, fleshy, subterete, truncate, 2 mm. long; foot slightly curved, 4 mm. long, long-pubescent within.
More
Pseudobulbs few to numerous, superposed, the new ones arising from apical half of the pseudobulb produced in the previous season, often hanging in long chains; each pseudobulb up to 20 cm long, 1–2 mm wide, narrowly cylindrical with several nodes, covered in scarious sheaths, 5–8-leaved.
Lip fleshy, slightly recurved, 4.5–6.5 × 3–4 mm, with a long claw, 3-lobed in the apical half; mid-lobe c. 4 × 3 mm, broadly ovate, apiculate; side lobes erect, oblong; callus a fleshy, sometimes pubescent, transverse ridge between the side lobes.
Dorsal sepal 3–5 × 2–2.5 mm, ovate, acuminate; lateral sepals 6.8–9.5 × 4–5.5 mm, obliquely ovate, acuminate; mentum 3–5 mm high, cylindrical.
Leaves 5–11 cm × 2–5 mm, linear, grass-like, bright green, slightly 2-lobed at the apex.
Inflorescence (floral axis) 1–3 cm long, overtopped by the leaves, 3–8-flowered.
Erect or pendulous epiphytic herb, often forming large clumps.
Bracts 1.5–2.5 mm long, narrowly lanceolate, long acuminate.
Flowers creamy-white with a yellow lip, primrose-scented.
Petals 3–3.5 × 1–1.5 mm, linear to oblanceolate, acute.
Pedicel and ovary 4 mm long, arched.
Column 2.5–2 mm long.
