Characteristics

Plants epiphytic, 40-150 mm tall; pseudobulbs adjacent, often forming long chains, conical, 10-25 x 5-15 mm, sheaths soon decaying to fibres; leaves 2 (3), linear-lorate, rounded to obtuse, often unequally bilobed, usually flat, 20-130 x 4-8 mm. Inflorescences as tall as the leaves, simple, laxly 1-5-flowered, pubescent; bracts scarious, narrowly lanceolate, long-acuminate, 2-5 mm long. Flowers cream or white, lip with a central yellow marking. Sepals subequal, acute, concave, obscurely pubescent on the outside; median narrowly oblong, 7.5-13 x 3-5 mm; laterals suboblique, 9-13 x 4-7 mm. Petals narrowly spathulate to oblanceolate, apices acute, reflexed or obtuse, straight, 7-11 x 2-4 mm. Lip 3-lobed, 9-12 x 6-8.5 mm, disc with a central ridge-like callus, surface papillate; midlobe suborbicular to oblong, acute, to rounded and apiculate, reflexed, 4-5 mm long; side lobes elongate, porrect, 1-1.5 mm tall; mentum widely conical, 4-6 mm long. Gynostemium slender, 2.5 mm tall. Capsules cyªlindrical, 16 x 6 mm.
