Characteristics

Inflorescence produced at the same time as the developing leaves, fairly densely 5–15-flowered; flowers ± secund. Peduncle c. 6 cm long, pubescent; pedicel and ovary 7–8 mm long, pubescent; bracts 6–11 mm long, lanceolate to obcordate, apiculate, deep purple.

Sepals slightly pubescent; dorsal sepal 9–12 × 3–4 mm, lanceolate, acuminate; lateral sepals 10–14 × 4–5 mm, obliquely lanceolate, slightly falcate, acuminate. Mentum 4–5 mm long, shallowly conical.
Lip recurved and hard to flatten, 7–9 × 5–6 mm, 3-lobed, with a yellow callus in the form of a glabrous ridge at the junction of the lobes; mid-lobe broadly ovate, acute; side lobes erect, narrow.
Sepals and petals yellow-green, turning mustard-yellow, veined with purple or red; lip white with purple veins; callus yellow.
Leaves 6–9 × 1.2–1.6 cm, ligulate or oblanceolate, bright green, tinged with purple on the margin and at the base.
Epiphytic, or occasionally lithophytic, herb 10–16 cm tall, forming small clumps.
Pseudobulbs 12–20 × 6–10 mm, oblong, glossy, 2–5-leaved.
Petals 8–10 × 2–3 mm, oblanceolate, acute.
