Characteristics

An epiphytic plant to 31 cm. long.. Stems clustered, pendulous, pseudobulbous at the base, slender and terete above, 3 cm. long, 1 mm. wide; pseudobulbs narrowly conical, 1.3 cm. long, 5 mm. wide at base.. Leaves 3, narrowly linear, flexuose, acute, 8–30 cm. long, 2–2.5 mm. wide, articulated 2 cm. above the base.. Inflorescence much shorter than the leaves, racemose, few-flowered, pendulous, with an upcurved apex, 7 cm. long; peduncle terete, 3.5 cm. long, pubescent; rhachis curved, terete, densely pubescent; bracts lanceolate, acuminate, 2–4 mm. long.. Flowers spreading, ochreous with a well-defined red-brown central nerve, black when dry.. Dorsal sepal lanceolate, acute, 8.7 mm. long, 2.8 mm. wide; lateral sepals obliquely narrowly triangular-lanceolate, 11.7 mm. long, 4.8 mm. wide, forming with the column-foot a broadly conical mentum 4 mm. high.. Petals oblanceolate, acuminate, 8 mm. long, 1.9 mm. wide.. Lip shortly clawed, recurved, obscurely 3-lobed in the middle, somewhat rhombic in outline, 7.6 mm. long, 5.7 mm. wide; side lobes erect, very narrowly oblong, obtuse; mid-lobe triangular, acute, 3.7 mm. long, 4.2 mm. wide at base, clavately pubescent; disc with an obscure fleshy keel to one-third the length of the lip, glabrous..
