Stems clustered, terete, 7–32 cm. long, 1–4 mm. diameter, covered at the base by 2–3 acute sheaths, 4–7(–12)-leaved in apical two-thirds.. Leaves suberect, linear or linear-lanceolate, unequally and acutely bilobed at the apex, to 22 cm. long, 2–11 mm. wide.. Inflorescence terminal, paniculate, 10–20 cm. long; peduncle 5–10 cm. long, subtended by 1–3 imbricating paleaceous sheaths; branches 1–5, spreading, often simple but rarely branched again, to 9 cm. long, 1 cm. wide including the flowers, densely many-flowered; rhachis slender, terete; bracts minute, triangular, acuminate, 1.5 mm. long..
