Characteristics

Lip 8–10 mm long, much recurved and difficult to flatten, 3-lobed; mid-lobe c. 4 × 4 mm, ovate, acute, rugulose; side lobes erect, auriculate; callus V-shaped or heart-shaped, outlined by yellow clavate hairs and with a brown spot at the apex of the V.Column stout, 1–2 mm long.

Inflorescence (floral axis) 7.5–12 cm tall, simple, 6–10-flowered; peduncle densely pubescent with 1–2 sterile bracts about the middle; rhachis shorter than the peduncle, pubescent; bracts 5–6 mm long, ± triangular, ciliate.
Sepals pubescent on the outside; dorsal sepal 9 × 3 mm, lanceolate, acute; lateral sepals 10 × 5 mm, obliquely triangular, acute, keeled on the outside, forming with the column foot an obliquely conical mentum.
Leaves 4–7 × 0.7–1.2 cm, narrowly elliptic, dark green with purple edges, the lowest 1–2 leaves small and sheathing.
Flowers pale to deep pink or plum-coloured; lip white, the side lobes veined with purple, callus with a brown spot.
Pseudobulbs c. 15 × 10 mm, conical to pyriform with 1 node, 4–5-leaved.
Small lithophytic herb with pseudobulbs clustered on a short rhizome.
Pedicel and ovary 5–7 mm long, pubescent.
