Characteristics

Plants usually consisting of a single growth with thick, cord-like roots. Stem 50–100 mm long, flattened. Leaves 2–8, 150–250 × 30–35 mm, widely spreading, crowded, dark green, thin-textured but stiff, main vein ridged beneath, apex uneven. Racemes decurved, 15–40 mm long, stiff, 3–30-flowered. Flowers 7–10 × 7–10 mm, yellow with red blotches, cupped. Sepals and petals incurved. Dorsal sepal 3–5 × 2.5–3 mm. Lateral sepals 3–5 × 2.5–3 mm. Petals 3.5–4.5 × 2–2.5 mm. Labellum 3–4 × 4–5 mm, white with red blotches; lateral lobes c. 0.5 × 2 mm, flat, erect; midlobe decurved, fleshy; spur c. 2 mm long, blunt, apex enlarged.
