Plants 200–400 mm tall. Free part of leaf to 100 × 3–5 mm. Spike 50–110 mm long, 5–25-flowered. Ovary sessile, green, shiny. Flowers moderately crowded to crowded, scented, 14–16 × 7–9 mm, green, reddish or brownish, labellum whitish or pinkish, callus green or yellowish. Dorsal sepal 7.5–9 × 3.5–4 mm, incurved, decurved or recurved. Lateral sepals free or fused at base, 7.5–9 × 2–2.5 mm, obliquely erect to recurved. Petals 7–9 × 1–1.5 mm, incurved to spreading. Labellum shortly stalked, broadly elliptic at base then contracted into a short pointed tail, 6–8 × 3.5–5 mm, sharply recurved near middle then erect. Callus broad at base then tapered, deeply channelled, extending nearly to labellum apex.
Highly localised; found growing among shrubs, tussocks and sedges in coastal and near-coastal heathland and heathy forest in freely draining, sandy loam.
