Characteristics

Plants 120–300 mm tall. Free part of leaf to 100 × 2–5 mm, usually withered. Spike 60–200 mm long, 6–25-flowered. Ovary sessile, bright green, shiny. Flowers crowded, lightly scented, 12–15 × 10–12 mm, reddish brown, labellum brown, callus greenish brown. Dorsal sepal 6.5–8 × 2.5–3 mm, decurved, with 3 darker veins. Lateral sepals free, 6.5–8 × 1.8–2.2 mm, erect, nearly parallel. Petals upswept, 5.5–7 × 0.8–1.2 mm, widely spreading. Labellum shortly stalked, ovate-lanceolate, obliquely erect, shallowly recurved, 5–6 × 3–3.5 mm, base broad then constricted, tapered and tail-like to apex, distal margins smooth or irregular. Callus smooth, broad, raised, fleshy, extending as a tail-like section nearly to the labellum apex.
