Environment

Known from only a single locality, growing among scattered shrubs and tussocks in moist to wet grassy sites and among reeds, sedges and rushes around margins of an upland peat swamp in heavy brown to black peaty soil over sandstone. Leek orchid population threatened by mining and catastrophic slump following heavy rains in 1998 which washed away much of the peat, leading to drying of swamp and weed infestation.
More
Currently known only from a single population and now rarely seen due to habitat loss; found growing in grassy forest and grassland in freely draining to moisture-retentive clay.
