Plants 100–500 mm tall. Free part of leaf to 150 × 2–6 mm. Inflorescence 200–500 mm tall. Spike 60–100 mm long, 20–60-flowered. Ovary sessile, projecting, green, scabrous. Flowers moderately crowded, unscented, 7–9 × 7–9 mm, green, brownish or purplish with prominent white petals, labellum white, callus green or yellowish green. Dorsal sepal 7.5–9 × 2.5–3 mm, incurved, often with darker stripes, sharply pointed. Lateral sepals fused, often arching over labellum, each sepal 6–7 × 1.5 mm. Petals 8–9 × 2 mm, porrect to spreading, margins irregular, sharply pointed. Labellum sessile, sharply recurved, sometimes bent back on itself, 8–9 × 3.5–4.5 mm, margins tightly crinkled/frilly. Callus thick at base, ending just beyond labellum bend in 2 raised bumps.
Widespread and common; found growing in freely draining sand and laterite in forested habitats, shrubland and grassy flats and in low-lying, seasonally-wet sites.
