Plants 150–25 tall. Free part of leaf c.150 x 3–5mm. Spike 70–9 long, 50–80-flowered. Ovary sessile, turgid, Flowers densely crowded, scented, 8–9 x 7–8mm, green, heavily suffused with dark purple, labellum white, pink or purple, callus green. Dorsal sepal 4–5 x 2.5mm, incurved. Lateral sepals free, 4–5 x 1.5mm, divergent, curved upwards and inwards over labellum, papillate. Petals 4–5 x 1.2mm, widely spreading. Labellum shortly stalked, broadly ovate (nearly triangular), c.2.8 x 3mm, reflexed at more than right angles above middle, margins irregularly crinkled. Callus very broad, purplish, papillate, with prominent V-shaped ridge, extending nearly to labellum apex.
Known only from the type locality where it was reported to grow ‘on the sunny side of a small ridge running down to Spring Creek; the soil is inclined to be clayey, with a little quartz and sandstone among it.’
