Plants 150–35 tall. Free part of leaf to 150 x 2–5mm. Spike 60–11 long, 7–25-flowered. Ovary sessile. Flowers well spaced to moderately crowded, scented, 10–12 x 7–8mm, pale green to yellowish-green or brownish, sometimes purplish, labellum cream, yellowish or pink, callus green or brownish. Dorsal sepal 7–8 x 3–3.5mm, decurved. Lateral sepals free or fused, 7–8.5 x 1.4mm, obliquely erect, straight or recurved, parallel, pointed. Petals 5–6 x 1.5mm, porrect or spreading. Labellum sessile, ovate-lanceolate, surface smooth, sharply reflexed near middle, 4.5–5.5 x 3.5mm, basal margins smooth, distal margins crinkled. Callus narrow, raised, shiny, extending nearly to labellum apex.
Widespread and often locally common growing in grassland, grassy forest, Callitris woodland, mallee heath and mallee shrubland in freely draining sands, gravels and clay loam; less commonly on rocky slopes in open forest.
