Characteristics

Plants 200–40  tall. Free part of leaf to 200 x 3–4mm. Spike 60–10  long, 10–30-flowered. Ovary shortly stalked. Flowers widely spaced, lightly scented, 5–7 x 5–7mm, dark greenish-brown to purplish-brown, labellum pink, callus green. Dorsal sepal 4.5–5 x 2.5mm, incurved. Lateral sepals basally fused, each sepal 4.5–5 x 1.5mm, erect and recurved, nearly parallel. Petals 4.5 x 1mm, porrect to incurved, blunt. Labellum shortly stalked, broadly ovate-triangular, 4–4.5 x 3mm, sharply recurved and constricted near middle, then tapered, margins entire. Callus basally broad and wrinkled then tapered, fleshy, shiny, extending nearly to labellum apex.

Widely distributed but disjunct, uncommon and apparently restricted to coastal regions, growing in moist to wet dense coastal heath, coastal scrub and grass-tree plains in sandy loam and peaty soils.
