Plants 300–60 tall. Free part of leaf to 200 x 4–8mm. Spike 40–9 long, 5–30-flowered. Ovary shortly stalked. Flowers opening widely, moderately crowded, scented, 12–14 x 4–8mm, pale green, yellowish-green or brownish, labellum white or pink, callus green or pink. Dorsal sepal 7–10 x 2.5mm, decurved. Lateral sepals fused at base, each sepal 7–10 x 2mm, nearly parallel. Petals 6–7.5 x 1mm, spreading. Labellum shortly stalked, ovate-lanceolate, , 6–9 x 2–3mm, sharply reflexed near middle, constricted above middle, margins slightly wavy. Callus broad at base, shiny, extending nearly to labellum apex.
Disjunct but sometimes locally common in coastal and near-coastal ranges, growing among tussocks in grassland, patches of blady grass, among shrubs in tall moist to wet forests and on rainforest margins in freely draining sands and clay loams.
