Plants 300–40 tall. Free part of leaf to 150 x 5–8mm, green, brown, purplish or blackish. Spike 90–18 long, 10–35-flowered. Ovary sessile, long, blackish, appressed. Flowers well-spaced, lightly scented, 9–12 x 7–10mm, greenish-purple to brownish-purple, labellum lamina white, pink or purple, callus green. Dorsal sepal 6–7 x 2–2.5mm, incurved. Lateral sepals fused (sometimes free), erect behind labellum, each sepal 6–7 x 2mm. Petals 5–6 x 2mm, incurved or spreading, pointed. Labellum shortly stalked, obliquely erect, recurved gently above middle, 8–9 x 5mm, tip often recurved further, margins entire to slightly wavy. Callus extending nearly to labellum apex, broad, fleshy, tapered.
Highly localised and poorly known, growing in dense shrubland, coastal scrub, mallee communities and woodland in freely draining sand and laterite; also on coastal granite outcrops.
