Climber or shrub 3–10 m. tall with arching branches, with glabrous pale grey-brown striate lenticellate corky stems; young shoots glabrous to pubescent.. Leaves borne on rather short lateral shoots, fragrant; blades elliptic-oblong, very slightly obovate, 4–15 cm. long, 2.5–7.5 cm. wide, acute, very shortly acuminate or ± rounded at the apex, cuneate at the base, slightly to very discolorous beneath, pubescent and tomentose or ± glabrous, entire or very obscurely undulate, both surfaces with raised finely reticulate venation when dry; petiole 0.8–1.8 cm. long.. Dichasia pale yellowish green in life, drying orange-brown, 2–6 cm. long, 3–8 cm. wide, glabrous or pubescent; peduncle 1–2 cm. long; pedicels 1 mm. long.. Calyx not lobed or slightly so.. Corolla white; tube 2 mm. long, densely hairy inside; lobes oblong-ovate, 1.5–1.8 mm. long, 1.2 mm. wide.. Fruit white turning purple-black, 4–6 mm. in diameter; calycine cup 2 mm. tall, 4–5 mm. wide, obscurely veined or very veined except near the entire margin.
