Spreading shrub ± 4 m. tall, with spreading crown; stems with grey longitudinally furrowed bark, sparsely pubescent, glabrescent, but with dense pale yellow ± conspicuous glands.. Leaves opposite; blades narrowly to broadly ovate, 6.5–12 cm. long, 3.5–9.5 cm. wide, acuminate at the apex, rounded to widely cuneate at the base, ± glabrous above save for minute pubescence on main nerves and midrib, and with scattered pale yellow glands, densely pubescent on midrib beneath and on main nerves and with distinct pale yellow glands scattered over the surface; only the main nerves raised beneath but no other venation obvious on either surface; petiole 1–7 cm. long.. Inflorescences corymbose, many-flowered, 4–12(–15) cm. long, slender, the main branches opposite, all axes densely shortly pubescent.. Calyx just over 1 mm. long, truncate or shallowly toothed.. Corolla white or cream, tomentose outside; tube 2.5 mm. long; lobes 0.5 mm. long.. Style 3 mm. long, plainly exserted.. Fruit ovoid or ± obovoid, ± 5–6 mm. long and 5 mm. wide, sitting in a loose shallow calycine cup, 3–3.5 mm. long, which is distinctly covered with yellow glands.
