Characteristics

A palm with a cluster of stems. They are 0.2-5 m tall. The stems are 3-5.5 cm across. There are 4-10 leaves. The leaf sheath is open and does not form a crown-shaft. The leaf is 1.2-2.2 m long with 33-38 narrow leaflets on each side. The flowering stalk arches over. The stalk is 45-80 cm long. There are 5-13 flowering branches. The fruit is round and 0.7-1 cm across. They are purple-black.
