Characteristics

Leaves 5–9 × (0.5)0.8–2.5 cm, 3.5–13 times as long as broad, linear to narrowly oblanceolate, long-cuneate at base, acute to rounded and mucronate at the apex, usually shiny, with prominent veins, glabrous above, with sparse long appressed hairs beneath.

Middle bracts 3 × 0.5–0.7 cm, markedly acute, densely appressed-pubescent to sericeous; inner bracts 6–7 × 0.5–0.8 cm, exceeding the flowers, linear-oblong, usually inrolled, acute, indumentum as for middle bracts.
Perianth base glabrous except for ciliate margins especially in the upper part; claw with long spreading hairs outside; limb 13–20 mm long, villous with long spreading hairs.
Suffrutex with simple stems often slightly decumbent at the base but erect above and up to 35(50) cm high.
Stems subglabrous, with a few appressed hairs.
Flowers 4.5–6 cm long, white or pink.
Heads 8–11 cm diameter.
