Origin: in the Oak Flat area of San Luis Obispo County, Calif., by Clarence H. Sauret. lntrod. in 1965. 3293; 16 Jan. 1973; assignor of fractional part interest to Richard K. Sauret. Chance seedling, discovered in 1952. Nut: small; averages 370 per lb; ovate; hull thin; shell thin, ragged, outer shell crumbly, inner shell medium to soft, well-sealed; Kernel: brown, averages 35 12 per oz, flavor good, 66% of nut; harvested with Nonpareil; easily harvested and processed. Tree: large; upright; vigorous; medium dense growth with abundant foliage; heavy and regular producer; blooms and pollinates with Nonpareil. Fruit:
