Cultivation

Origin: in Glenwood, Iowa, by the Henry Field Seed Nursery Co., Shenandoah, Iowa. Introd. in 1950. Chance seedling discovered in 1948. Tree: very hardy; prolific annual bearer; blooms later than most varieties, thus escaping many late frosts. Good for home gardens. Fruit: small; very sweet; skin light yellow, thin; ripens in late midseason, later than Superb, which it resembles.
