Origin: in Harrow, Ontario, Canada, by Richard E.C. Layne, Agr. Canada Res. Sta. Introd. in 1980. V51092 [(Reliable × o.p.) × o.p.] × Sun Glo. Cross made in 1965; selected in 1970; tested as HW 407. Named in honor of R.E.C. Layne, apricot breeder, Harrow Res. Sta. Fruit size medium; 5 cm × 4 cm, oblong; skin orange, with 20% red blush, moderately resistant to skin cracking; flesh orange, very firm, good texture and flavor; freestone; ripens 28 July in Harrow, 4 days after Harogem and 7 days after Veecot. Tree: cold hardy, large, spreading, vigorous, productive, consistently productive; tolerant to perennial canker (Leucostoma spp.), bacterial spot, and brown rot. Recommended for fresh market and home processing in Ontario. Fruit:
