Origin: in Bakersfield, Calif., by John Weinberger, Sun World; Castlebrite × open-pollinated; selected in 1978; tested as 049-054; PP8184; issued 23 March 1993; assigned to Sun World Inc., Coachella, Calif. Tree: consistently productive under a broad range of climatic conditions; low chilling requirement; growth habit is open to slightly weeping. Fruit: very large, typically 120 g; elongated with distinct suture; skin is yellow with no blush; flesh is yellow-orange, firm; eating quality is medium; fruit ripens 5 days after Castlebrite in California.
