Cultivation

Origin: in Le Grand, Calif., by Frederic W. Anderson, Merced, Calif. Introd. in 1971. Plant patent 3062; 10 Aug. 1971; assigned to Burchell Nursery, Modesto, Calif. Open-pollinated seedling of Perfection F2. Tested as Anderson 39P115. Tree: large to medium; spreading, open-growth; vigorous; regular and productive bearer. Fruit: large to medium; freestone; compared to Blenheim, larger, skin tougher, flesh firmer and less pit burn; ripens about 6 days later than Modesto; more adaptable to mechanical harvesting, processing and packing then Blenheim; keeping quality good with long shelf life.
