Origin: near Reedley, Fresno County, Calif., by Dennis Surabian. Plant patent 4740; 1 Nov. 1977. Open-pollinated seedling of Laroda. Fruit similar to Laroda, but final coloration of fruit occurs earlier and is much darker in color; freestone; globose; blue-violet skin with yellow, firm-textured flesh that assumes a brilliant red color in storage.
