Cultivation

Mid-season, purplish-brown skin, yellow flesh Japanese plum. Origin: DCA–University of Bologna, Italy, by S. Sansavini, S. Lugli, R. Correale, and U. Palara; (Suplumsix × Suplumthirteen) × O.P.; crossed 1986; tested as 86.803.013; introd. 2002. Tree: vigorous; spreading; early bearing, very productive; self-infertile; anthers yellow; blooms mid-March in Bologna, 2–4 d before Shiro. Fruit: medium, 59-mm diameter, 40–50 g; oblate, symmet-rical; skin purplish-brown, glabrous; flesh yellow, very juicy; 17.2%to 19.3% SS; semi-clingstone; ripe after mid-July in Bologna, 15 d after Shiro.
