Parentage unknown; a Japanese plum hybrid. Tree: heavy bearer; hardy; leaf ovate, midrib and veins prominent, glands reniform. Fruit: large, 2 1/4 inches in diam.; roundish oval to round cordate; skin deep carmine, shading to blackish red-purple, thin, waxy at maturity; flesh deep purplish-red, firm until mature when it becomes tender and melting, very juicy; flavor mild, subacid, aromatic, pleasing; pit freestone, small; ovate; ripens early.
