Cultivation

Origin: in Placerville, Calif., by Charles Rayburn. Introd. in 1921; seedling of Tragedy; discovered in 1919. Tree: Fruit: skin deep blackish-purple; flesh bright whitish to yellowish green, sweet, mildly subacid, with considerable flavor, semifreestone; shipping quality good; ripens with Laroda, 15 to 17 days before Nubiana, and 20 to 23 days after Satsuma.
