Origin: in Manchuria. Scions received from L.V. Ptitsin, Harbin, Manchuria, by Canada Dept. Agr., Res. Sta., Morden, Manitoba, Canada, in 1939. Introd. in Canada in 1939. Prunus salicina (P. triflora koreana). Tree: bush type; rounded, spreading; hardy; productive; adaptable to prairie conditions. Fruit: medium, measuring 1 1/8 inches in diam.; nearly round; skin green becoming greenish-yellow when mature; flesh light greenish, firm, meaty, freestone; flavor very sweet, mild, pleasant, somewhat like Green Gage; season mid-August; quality very acceptable as dessert or preserves.
