Characteristics

Bushy shrub to ca 1 m; lvs oblong-obovate, 3–5 cm, obtuse, finely serrate, the gland near the sinus; fls in small leafy-bracted clusters; sep glandular on the margin; pet 5–7 mm; fr globose, dark red, 1 cm; 2n=32. Native of Eurasia, occasionally escaped from cult. in our range.
