Hale o.p., believed to be crossed with Fortyniner; discovered in 1955; selected in 1957; first fruited in 1958. Tree: vigorous; medium large; productive; leaves with reniform glands; flower small, dark pink. Fruit: size variable, large; skin highly colored red, medium thick; flesh yellow, red near pit, flavor mild, texture firm, freestone; ripens fairly evenly, with some tendency to ripen first at the base; ripens with Elberta and Fortyniner; resembles Fortyniner.
