Origin: in Modesto, Calif., by Alexander Kojakanian. Introd. in 1959. Plant patent 1795; 13 Jan. 1959; one-half interest assigned to Aram Kojakanian, Modesto. Chance seedling; discovered in 1931. Tree: size medium; vigor medium; upright, spreading; productive; leaf glands reniform; flower small, pink; blooms with Merrill Fiesta. Fruit: large; skin yellow, blushed with red; flesh yellow, red next to pit, nonmelting, flavor mild, aroma distinct, quality good, clingstone; harvest season extends through the last 3 weeks of October in place of origin.
