Origin: in Red Bluff, Calif., by Grant Merrill. Introd. in 1950. July Elberta × Florence; selected in 1945. Tree: large; vigorous; hardy; regular bearer. Fruit: small; skin very brilliant color, tough; flesh white, clingstone; ripens very early; resembles Alexander, but firmer and with less melting flesh.
