Cultivation

Yellow, low-acid peach. Origin: in Modesto, Calif., by C. Floyd, Gary N. and Grant G. Zaiger, and Leith M. Gardner. Introduced in 1998. Zaiger 36EB86 × Zaiger 9GC175. USPP 11090 issued on 12 Oct. 1999. Tree: large; vigorous; spreading and dense; productive. Leaf glands reniform. Flowers large; showy; pink; self-fertile. Fruit: large; skin has yellow to golden yellow ground color overspread with light red to orange red color; moderate and medium length pubescence, flesh firm, light yellow to yellow, excellent, mild, sweet, sub-acid flavor; semi-freestone. Ripens 15-21 June in Modesto, Calif., 1 week later than Sweet Gem.
