Origin: in Gainesville, Fla., by R.H. Sharpe, Fla. Agr. Expt. Sta., Gainesville. Introd. in 1970. (Southland × Hawaiian, F2) × Flordawon. Cross made in 1960 selected in 1963, tested as 'W' and W68-l. Tree: vigorous, but moderately compact; chilling requirement of 150 h; flower showy; leaf glands reniform. Fruit: medium to large; nearly round; skin 40% to 80% medium red blush, with dull greenish ground color at picking stage, changing to bright yellow at edible stage; flesh yellow, firm, freestone; ripens midMay in central Florida.
