[(Southland × Hawaiian) F3) × Springtime; cross made in 1959; top-worked trees first fruited in 1961, tested as Fla. 16-33W. Tree: needs to be well-grown and properly thinned for desirable commercial fruit size; chilling requirement 300 h; fruit sets medium to heavy, some thinning required; somewhat more spreading and open than Flordawon; leaf glands reniform; flower large, showy, self-fruitful. Fruit: small, averaging about 2 inches in diam.; nearly round; skin yellow, faintly blushed; flesh yellow with little red at pit, medium-firm, ripens uniformly; clingstone until fully ripe, being nearly freestone at the soft-ripe stage; dessert quality fair to good, with some bitterness in overripe condition; ripens uniformly in late April, with or up to 6 days before Flordawon.
