Origin: in Ontario, Calif., by George P. Weldon, Chaffey Junior College. Introd. in 1939. Sims × (Feicheng × Bolivian Cling). Tree: more resistant to delayed foliation than Sims, but needs slightly more winter chilling than Babcock; good producer. No longer commercially planted. Fruit: large; 2 1/2 inches diam. and over; flesh quality good, subacid, deep yellow while skin still appears green, no red at pit; conventional canning clingstone, pit small; hangs well on tree; ripens moderately late, last of August and first of September; resembles Sims.
