Johnson with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Southeastern Fruit and Tree Nut Res. Lab., Byron, Ga. Harvester o.p. Tree: Fruit: large; round; 70% bright red over yellow ground color; short pubescence; flesh yellow, melting, freestone. Ripens 34 days before Elberta. Flowers small, nonshowy; leaf glands reniform. Moderate resistance to bacterial spot. Trees: vigorous and productive. Chilling requirement 750 h.
