Cultivation

Origin: in Le Grand, Calif., by F.W. Anderson. Introd. in 1957. Plant patent 1545; 1 Jan. 1957; assigned to Reedley Nursery, Reedley, Calif. Le Grand × Sun Grand; selected in 1953; tested as Anderson 1B41. Tree: large to medium; spreading; vigorous; productive; leaf glands globose; flowers large. Fruit: large; skin yellow, partially covered with red; flesh yellow, flavor subacid, freestone; ripens 1 week later than Sun Grand, which it resembles, but flesh not quite as firm and is of better quality.
