Origin: in Exeter, Calif., by Grant MerrIll. Introd. in 1971. Plant patent 3581; 6 Aug. 1974. Scarlet Queen o.p. Tree: large, vase­shaped; vigorous; productive; low chilling requirement; flowers small to medium, pink; leaf glands reniform. Fruit: 1 3/4-2 1/4 inches in diam.; globose; skin bright red, waxy, no russet; flesh yellow, firm, clingstone; excellent shipper; ripens late May to early June.
