Origin: in New Brunswick, N.J., by M.A. Blake, New Jersey Agr. Expt. Sta. Introd. in 1939; tested as N.J. 99. J.H. Hale × Marigold; cross made in 1923. Tree: vigor medium, very productive; flower small, nonshowy, pollen-sterile; leaf glands reniform; chilling requirement 750 h. Fruit: large; round; skin bright red over half of surface, attractive; flesh yellow, red at pit, firm, melting, semi-clingstone; extends the Goldeneast season, ripens 1 week before Elberta.
