Origin: in Blacksburg, Va., by George D. Oberle, Virginia Agr. Expt. Sta. Introd. in 1965. (Sunhigh × V.P.I. 40N nectarine) o.p.2; tested as V.P.I. 57N. Tree: vigorous; productive; blossom large, nonshowy; leaf glands mostly reniform, but difficult to classify. Fruit: medium large, 2 1/8 inches in diam.; ovate; skin highly colored; flesh yellow, slightly stringy, quality good, semi-freestone; ripens 19 days before Lexington.
