Cultivation

A large freestone peach of high color. Origin: a limb mutation of Summer Lady found at Fowler Orchards, Newcastle, Calif. Introd. 1996. USPP 9594. Assigned to Fowler Nurseries, Newcastle, Calif. Tree: flowers large, showy, deep pink. Leaf glands reniform. Upright to moderately spreading, vigorous, productive in California. Chilling requirement 600 h. Fruit: globose, large to very large, covered with a 60% to 90% deep red blush color. Flesh melting, orange (apricot)-yellow, freestone, juicy, firm, with exceptional quality. Ripens 5-20 Aug. in Reedley, Calif.
