Origin: near Le Grand, Merced County, Calif., by F.W. Anderson. Plant patent 4093; 23 Aug. 1977; assigned to Burchell Nursery, Modesto, Calif. From F1 cross of Red Diamond × Sun Grand. Tree: large; vigorous; upright to spreading; blooms midseason with large flowers; leaf glands globose. Fruit: large; symmetrical; globose; freestone; yellow skin overspread with red; flesh yellow and firm; ripens 10 days earlier than Sun Grand; good eating quality.

Origin: in Merced, Calif., by Fred Anderson. Plant patent 4093; 23 Aug. 1977; assigned to Stark Bros. Nurseries, Louisiana, Mo., and Burchell Nurseries, Modesto, Calif. Introd. in 1979. Parentage unknown. Discovered and selected about 1970. Tree: bud hardiness better than Loring, similar to Redhaven. Fruit: large; skin 100% bright red; flesh yellow, firm, good shipper; flavor good; freestone; ripens 1 week after Redhaven; hangs well on tree.
