Cultivation

Origin: in Davis, Calif., by L.D. Davis, Agr. Expt. Sta., Univ. of California, Davis. Introd. in 1971. Early Muir o.p. × Jungerman. Cross made in 1955, first fruited in 1959, tested as D-8-13W. Tree: size medium; upright; productive; flower large, pink, showy; leaf glands reniform. Fruit: size medium; somewhat elongated; skin yellow ground cover with slight blush, excellent harvest color, pubescence moderate; flesh clear yellow, flavor excellent, canning clingstone; introduced because of superior flavor when canned; ripens with Fortuna or 2 to 3 days after.
