Cultivation

White-fleshed, sub-acid, freestone nectarine. Origin: LeGrand, Calif., by L.G. Bradford. Seedling of Red Glen (USPP7,193) × unnamed white fleshed nectarine. Introduced on 21 Jan. 2003 as USPP13,495. Tree: flowers large, showy, light purplish-pink, self-fertile. Leaf glands reniform 2 to 6 usually alternate occasionally opposite. Tree is medium size, vigorous, spreading, dense, productive. Fruit: globose, asymmetrical, uniform, large. Very dark red smoothly blending into moderate red with yellowish white undercolor. Flesh firm, crisp, white, freestone. Flavor subacid, sweet, the best flavor. Ripens in early to mid July in LeGrand, Calif., or 7 d earlier than Grand Pearl.
